Thanks to the support of all our clients, MAXIMAGE®, together with its collaborators and friends, can support a shelter for primary school children located in Tlaxcala, bringing them jackets and making a small inn. This beautiful activity has been carried out for more than 10 years. A couple of years ago, one of our appreciated collaborators had the initiative to share a little of the human warmth of our company with these children and organized the dynamic of letters to the Three Wise Men, with the children and the rest of the collaborators.
This year the shelter had 58 children registered and each one sent handwritten and decorated letters to Santa Claus and the Three Wise Men. He moved us to read each of the letters they wrote to the kings, in fact they asked for gifts, colors and sweets; but they also asked for health for their families and that they never lack work.
Reading the letters not only inspired us as human beings this Christmas; but it also made our imagination fly and ask ourselves: “What would the process of Digitalization and #Digital}Transformation of the North Pole be like?”
They say you only really understand a concept if you can explain it to a child. We did the reading and text extraction (OCR) experiment with one of our tools. SOFIIA SOFTWARE INTELLIGENT IMAGE ANALYSIS® was not only able to extract the text from the letters with an average of 98% accuracy; If not, this percentage was repeated in images of the cards, the cards horizontally, and in a photograph of one of the girls holding the letter in front of the camera.
